March is Literacy Month for Rotary International and the Rotary Club Absecon-Galloway distributed the dictionaries for third graders in all the four schools in Absecon and Galloway School District. The club has been doing this project for over five years now. We distributed the dictionaries to over 350 kids last week. According to official website of The Dictionar Project (www.dictionaryproject.com) - "In the 2007-2008 school year, more than 1,691 clubs have participated in the program in all 50 states, in District of Columbia - and in countries abroad as well - sponsoring more than 2,630 projects and donating 1,144,580 books to the children. Rotary Clubs have donated 3,669,342 books in the past 12 years (numbers current as of Mar-10-2008)".
